We welcome contributions from members of the Kashmiri diaspora who wish to share memories, family histories, language, songs, stories, or reflections.
How It Works
After submitting your name and email below, you will automatically receive an email containing a set of open-ended questions about your background, diasporic journey, language and literary memory, family transmission, and personal reflections.
You can reply to that email with your answers in your own time. There is no word limit, and partial answers are entirely welcome. Your response will be reviewed by the project curator, and selected narratives may be published on this site with your consent.
What the Questions Cover
Background — Where you are based and your family's origins in Kashmir.
Diasporic Journey — When and why you or your family left Kashmir.
Language, Literature, and Memory — Poems, sayings, songs, stories, and the presence of Kashmiri in your life.
Transmission and Meaning — Who passed down memories and how traditions may have changed.
Reflection — What Kashmir means to you and what future generations should remember.
Optional Materials — Any written material or objects you wish to describe.
Consent — How you would like to be credited (named, anonymous, or not published).
